The future of the Americas will greatly depend on the ability of our youth to tackle the persistent problem of poverty.
This award category, Literature, calls on the creativity of today’s youth to use the beauty of language and its expression to raise awareness of poverty in Latin America.
In particular, this category calls on submitters to use all literary devices at their disposal to come up with submissions that educate while stirring the emotions.
Submitters might use the following types of literary submissions:
- Short stories
Submissions may be in either English or Spanish.
The Daniel Chavez Moran Award will grant the following prizes for this category:
- Grand Prize - $1,000, Certificate of Award
- Runner Up - $500, Certificate of Runner Up
- Third Place to Fifth Place - $100
